Planning for Successful SEO Strategies

Posted Under (SEO) by dominatingseo on 26-08-2008

I always say that SEO is an Art and I repeat it’s an Art. It requires deep understanding of SE’s Algorithm and planning SEO strategies accordingly. So I believe that planning strategies is the pillar for successful SEO, so invest as much time as possible on planning your strategy before starting your project.

The two things, I think are most important while planning an SEO Strategies for your projects are website analysis and competitor’s analysis.

Before couple of months I wrote a post about Factors of Website Analysis, but still I haven’t written anything about competitor’s analysis, so I would like to highlights it in this post.

I think competitor analysis is a fundamental step while planning SEO strategy for your project. Before you plan your SEO strategy the 3 most important “must know” are:

  1. About Your Business & Website
  2. About Your Competitor Website
  3. SE Algorithm

I don’t believe in stealing strategies from other website and implementing same on my websites to get successful. But as well, I do think that there is nothing wrong in analyzing successful websites and taking inspiration from them to get online success.

There are many SEO, who think that it’s best to get on with their own plans and ignore what their competitors are doing, but I don’t thinks its right. We should always analyze as well keep the track the actions of your competitors and move your project accordingly.

After analyzing your competitor, don’t just push ditto strategy for your project. Take inspiration from your competitor’s website, work out on market trend and do serious brainstorming for value addition. Because SEO is always about innovation, so it might be possible that something that worked today, might not work tomorrow and vice versa.

If your competitor can be success with what you have analyzed from their website, then you can definitely dominate them with their strategy plus your value addition, don’t you think so? So I feel competitor analysis is “must do” step for preparing any successful SEO strategy.

To highlight more about competitor analysis, my next post will on Competitor Analysis very soon. Till then, Ciao and Take Care of yourself.

Happy Independence Day - Indian

Posted Under (General) by dominatingseo on 14-08-2008

Today is Independence day for us (Indians). A day which reminds us of the hardships, which our great heroes faced to give us a better and secured future. Its a day to give tribute to those our brave “jawans” (soldiers) who laid down their lives on borders so that we can live a peaceful life.

Lets contribute something towards our country, which can make us and our country feel proud. Also, on this patriotic occasion, I like to Abhinav Bindra (Golden Boy) for his exceptional performance in Beijing Olympics 2008.

On this day of 15th August I wish all Indian a very Happy 61st Independence Day. I was, I am and I always will be proud to be an Indian.

Happy Independence Day

Happy Independence Day

Lets shout from bottom of our heart and make the world listen to us, “Jay Hind” !!

Popular SEO Myths Exposed

Posted Under (SEO) by dominatingseo on 08-08-2008

Hi Mates,

As you must be aware that, I just have started taking SEO Freelancing projects to assist myself financially and with the grace of god, I am getting enough contact us request from website owners, thanks to all of them.

Before couple of days, when I was not taking any SEO Freelancing projects, I was not aware that how many myths these businessman’s are carrying in their minds about SEO. Most of clients contacting me are carrying SEO myths in their mind. So today, I am writing this post for exposing couple of most popular SEO myths which I have came across in small time period of a month. The below are top 20 SEO myths I want to expose in this post. Here I go:

  1. Submitting to the search engines is the best way to get listed
  2. It is easy to optimize home page, rather then an inner page.
  3. Meta keywords are the key to optimization
  4. Stuffing keywords into alt attributes helps your page to rank well
  5. Keyword stuffed comments give your page “an edge”
  6. PageRank is a measurement of where my page will rank
  7. Rankings are the only goal worth measuring
  8. Hiding outbound links will help me to rank better by keeping all my link popularity on my site
  9. Images are bad for SEO
  10. Optimizing for generic words is a great idea.
  11. Every page must have exactly 250 words on it to be properly optimized.
  12. There is a perfect keyword density and if you could only get it right, your page would be #1 for that term.
  13. Hidden text is a great way to increase your keyword density.
  14. The home page of your site should be optimized for every possible relevant term.
  15. Your “site” ranks well for specific terms. (Pages rank for terms, not a site)
  16. Google owes you a #1 listing because you followed all their rules.
  17. Clicking on your listing repeatedly will help improve your positioning in the SERPs.
  18. If an SEM/SEO Company is the biggest, then they must be the best.
  19. Top rankings guarantee you more sales.
  20. More often the spiders visit, the higher your site will rank.

If anyone of you wants to add things to list, you can write it into the comments parts.

Thanks & Happy SEOing.
